“If we approach life with the gentleness of a horse, appreciating how times change and the diversity of cultures, the world would be so much better. This is represented by the horse cave painting, hieroglyphs of Egypt spelling horse, the Asian Sumi-e style with the red character for kindness, the Dreamtime story from the Outback dot paintings of Australia, and the simple geometric designs of African tribes. These are styles and cultures and times, studied by my students to gain knowledge and appreciation for diversity.”
